1. Game Region
PS3 does not have region lock, all region games will work on
the PS3.

Game region - R1 is US
R2 is Europe / Japan
R3 is Asia
R4 is Australia
Playing PS3 Games offline - Region Free. Language
(Some Europe games have French, US Spanish, Asia Chinese..).
Censorship - US least censored, Australia most
censored as their most open rating is 15(15 years of age)
Playing online - Most are global servers, Well
known exceptions are PES and MGS4, some forumer are trying to compile a list
here.
Downloading content online - If the content is
free, there will be no problem. If you need to pay via credit card, you can only
use the credit card of the region, for example, if you are trying to purchase
from R2, you will need a Europe credit card to purchase.
2. Bluray region
Local PS3 has Region A Blu Ray region, make sure you get
only Region A or region free Blu Ray movies. you can see more about Blu-Ray

3. DVD region
Local PS3 has Region 3 for DVD, make sure you only get Region 3 or
Region-Free DVD. you can see more about DVD Region

4. PS3 slim (newer version) vs PS3 fat (older version)
As of firmware version 3.21, Sony has removed the ability to install "Other OS". All PS3 fat can install Linux (an open source operating system). Older
PS3 fat can even play original PS2 games. PS3 slim can do neither, but PS3 slim
is is cheaper (by about $100), thinner and saves more energy. In our opinion,
PS3 slim is the better choice for most users.
5. Warranty
Warranty for PS3 is 1 year Sony Singapore Warranty, We now have a mandatory testing policy for all consoles. It would be better if you gave us the time to explain to you all the aspects of your brand new console. We will undertake a thorough test and that you bring home a 100% working set. We will not be giving any exchanges after the test has been successfully completed as warranty claims will now be directed with the agent.
If you buy the PS3 from us, there will be lifetime service warranty from us,
meaning we will absorb all labour costs with the repair if the repair jobs is
conducted by us.
6. What to buy
Controller: You will need this if you
intend to play 2 player or more games. You can consider the original
Dual Shock 3 Controller
or a
Pega PS3 3-in-1 Wireless Keyboard Controller Remote to double up as a
remote for movie playback and a keyboard for easier text entry.
HDMI: You will want to get this if you have a HDTV
with HDMI input so that you can get resolution of up to 1080p. We have
compatible
HDMI cable @ $10 and
MediaBridge Ultra Series High-Speed HDMI from $15 onwards. We highly recommend the MediaBridge Ultra Series High-Speed HDMI as they produce better quality images than compatible
ones.
